I’ll tell you the dark side of the gimp crip garbage. I live in a Work working class town. The local college is simply berserk. The president of student services is/was (haven’t checked in lately) a murderer they helped free from a life sentence. It’s called Olympic College. Anyhow, a student recently attempted to solicit pornographic pictures of marginalized people for a paper. This appeared on a community page, like it was a restaurant review or a job posting. No age limit was listed. It was pretty obvious this was for a porn shoot posing as a paper. Once those pictures are out there, these people can’t get them back. They don’t have the money to sue. Our age of consent is 16. If I recall correctly, they wanted disabled people.

This paper and idea is just a return to circus sideshows. Disabled people have always been sexualized. You can’t “reclaim” this identity. It is not empowering. It is shaming and dehumanizing to people like me.

Wow, that sounds truly insane. Is there any story on this anywhere?

It was just on a local community page. I was banned from it, so I can’t get back to it. There is a rumor (which I believe is true) that this college just lost all federal funding this year because of these antics. There has been tremendous restructuring and downsizing. There are also rumors another university may take it over. The local clinic employing the “counselor” (from the UW) I described in my other comment was also defunded and leaked classified information about all its patients and workers. So these issues that start in colleges and universities end up having real world events. Watching them lose the funding was just bizarre. It came down to a refusal to remove the Progress Pride flag from public view and change “intersectional” language in most cases. They knew that losing Federal funds would directly harm clients, but would say that it was more important to “keep DEI values” than to continue to help people if these values were not publicly stated.

I’m so sorry and sad to hear this.

Colin, it seems connected with the DEI manager. I’m linking to their thesis. Please understand this college has a program called “Running Start” where minors can take college classes. The age of consent in this state is low—only 16. I don’t care how many people ban me or call me names. I don’t like any of this. There is always a connection with UW, which has been a mess lately over the antisemitism issue.

I’m loving this content so far. Some serious serious questions and comments follow…

I am certain I could scientifically peer review a poem. Certain!

How did she clean up that glitter???? It is, I’ve been told, a biohazard, or at least an environmental pollutant, and I’m highly concerned about the ethics of this research.

Joy, as it’s used in the trans world and, I think here, is sexual. Trans joy can be code for euphoria boner. As such, was Kamala’s joy meant to have a sexual component I totally missed? This might have influenced my vote if I’d understood this Alt left “dog whistle” 🙄

poetry does not belong in medical journals

this is not tumblr

...wow, just wow

How does a medical journal peer review a poem?

As someone who *does* like poetry, I feel vicariously embarrassed. I swear to GAWD, not all of us are like this, and some poetry is actually GOOD. Even if it had been a good poem, still doesn't belong in a MEDICAL JOURNAL.

They've turned the journals into Tumblr. It's really astonishing.

Hey could you guys pleeeeasee do this paper, “Strength, power and aerobic capacity of transgender athletes: a cross-sectional study” (Hamilton et al. 2024).

You’re both probably aware but it’s THE trans-in-sport paper. The kooks have latched onto the insane conclusion but the actual results… well, you can imagine.

Love both your work keep it up xx
