Has anyone reached out to you about covering their content on this podcast? Do you notify them you are covering their content?
It seems that going to college makes people more self absorbed and more biased. We’re training young people to be mentally unwell and emotionally unstable.
I looked up the "body horror novella" (26:10): it is just an undergraduate thesis! Do you really want to be picking on college students? The "autoethnographic dissertation" (27:40) is much stronger evidence of institutional rot, as it was accepted for the award of a Ph.D. What a nightmare it would be to have to comment on a piece of writing that oozes such narcissism and self-importance from every page!
Why are you reading a re-published speech transcript as though it's supposed to be a research paper? Transcripts are indeed published from time to time. I believe Wittenberg's work is a solid example.
Here's Wong's speech, in another format besides the journal that republished it. How was it titled and cited in the journal?
It was published as a normal research article. It should have just remained a speech or published on her personal blog. Not the kind of thing a research journal should be publishing!

I haven't reached out to anyone nor have they reached out to me. Maybe I'll try to get an author on the show sometime! That could be interesting.
"I had a new disability identity."
I've gotten old; so I've acquired an "old-person identity."
What? You don't accept my identity as an old person? Help, help, someone is denying my existence and trying to erase and silence me!

Oh my. The laziness goes well beyond the abstract being a copypaste. Thanks for the link. As for "portions of this paper were presented at" https://aac-learning-center.org/2024/06/01/how-ableism-impacts-people-who-need-and-use-aac/ I wonder, I just wonder which came first.
In return for the tandf link, here's the grant that paid for her time https://taggs.hhs.gov/Detail/AwardDetail?arg_AwardNum=90REGE0014&arg_ProgOfficeCode=291
Thank you for the grant info!
And I agree, this should not have been accepted by anyone in the food chain. I wonder what else that center has produced under that grant.
